ABOUT US

“WE ARE A VOLUNTEER-DRIVEN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING TEMPORARY SHELTER TO STRAY, ABANDONED, AND SURRENDERED ANIMALS WHILE RESTORING THEIR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH WITH THE PURPOSE OF FINDING PERMANENT SUITABLE FOREVER HOMES. FOREVER HOMES ENCOMPASS WHAT IS BEST FOR THE ANIMAL AS WELL AS FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO PROVIDE SUCH LOVE, CARE, AND SUPPORT.”

SPECIFICALLY, animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist animals in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, animals in the greatest need take priority.

PP2CR does not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, online databases and at adoption events/expos.

PP2CR provides these needed services through our fund-raising events set in place by our dedicated volunteers and through donations from individuals that believe in our mission.

Our potential adopters go through a thorough screening application process to ensure the best possible fit for both the adopter and animal.

WHY CHOOSE US?

We take in animals that would otherwise be put down. We provide medical care as needed (spay/neutered, microchipped, vaccinations while in our care, heartworm testing, and deworming) to restore our animals’ health.

Because we are a foster based rescue, we provide everything needed to our foster volunteers to include but not limited to; food, kennels, medical costs, toys, bedding, education, etc.

All we ask of our foster volunteers is to provide TLC and give PP2CR firsthand knowledge of the animals’ behaviors. Our foster home volunteers go through an application process and home checks before any animal is place in their care.

All potential adoptive parents are completely vetted for any potential issues which may make the adoption of an animal questionable. If the issue is relatively small, PP2CR will work with potential adopters to remedy any issues in order for the best placement of our animals in their forever homes.

PP2CR has a vast network within the rescue community, often transporting for other rescues or advertising another rescues animals in hopes of saving as many animals as reasonably possible. We are listed on Adopt-A-Pet and Petfinder respectively which allows maximum exposure for our animals. We operate strictly by donations and very kind volunteers, we have no paid staff whatsoever but we do ask for donations and volunteers as they are greatly needed and accepted. Also 10% of ALL monetary donations are donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation out of respect for our founder Trish Widener who suffers from this deadly incurable disease.

BOARD MEMBERS

Patricia Widener 2017Trish Widener was the founder of PP2CR. She fought every day to give unfortunate dogs of all sizes, breeds, and medical conditions; a second chance at life.  The same way she fought for a second chance at life through a double lung transplant for her cystic fibrosis.  Trish lost her fight on May 22, 2017. Speak to anyone who has ever encountered Trish and they will all say she loved the Lord, her family, and saving animals.  Her husband Jim and the rest of the PP2CR family are continuing what Trish started with a vision of finding furever homes for animals. PP2CR carries on in loving memory of Trish Widener, NEVER FORGOTTEN.
